The Reba actress Melissa Peterman lost as much as 60 lbs or 27 kg of weight in just over a year in 2006/2007.

Peterman had gained weight after she gave birth to her firstborn, Riley David Brady, with husband, John Brady in late 2005. So, she started eating healthy with high protein and low carbs and exercised with her personal trainer to lose all that weight.

As already stated above the Reba actress Melissa Peterman’s weight loss secrets are nothing more than a healthy diet and a workout plan with her personal trainer. She followed her workout regimen and a diet chart that was low on carbs, fat, and sugar and high on protein and fiber.

In 2005, after she gave birth to her firstborn, Peterman started to gain weight and when she made an appearance at The Help Group’s 8th Annual Teddy Bear Ball, she was unrecognizable; she looked curvier.

A year after, she had a new avatar. When she arrived at the CMT Giants Honoring Reba McEntire, she was slim and trim; back to her previous form, even better.

Some years later, Peterman had an interview with Self, where she revealed how hard it was to follow her diet chart and workout routine because of her toddler. During the interview, she also spoke about what she eats every morning.

Every morning I start my day with an organic egg white omelet with fresh spinach picked from my garden, a side of turkey bacon, and a fresh fruit smoothie. Then I eat an apple on the way to his preschool, and the closest thing I have had to a fresh fruit smoothie since I had my son is a watermelon, jolly rancher! For special occasions, I add cinnamon in my cottage cheese and dip the apple.

Well, she consumes 500 calories in just morning. But, even if she had to cook something else, it wouldn’t have been challenging thanks to her mother.

My mom was a good cook. We had a family dinner every night, and I just absorbed it. Plus I married a guy who loves to experiment in the kitchen.

Well, we know she lost weight then, but has she gained some in the recent years? How’s her life now?

As already mentioned earlier, welcoming of a child made it harder for Melissa Peterman to maintain her weight. And so, she gained and lost weight a number of times in between.

I’m funny and I play funny characters, so it doesn’t matter if I’m not a size two or I may have some crow’s feet or whatever. Beauty is really about confidence.

Well, the actress has never had someone tell her to change the way she looked. But, she knows the importance of a healthy life and so she’s always trying to keep her weight at the optimal level.
